Some refer to it as Fate.
Others call it Hope.
I think of it as Faith.
It’s not just hoping
that today will be a good one—
That my assistant will do the work right
so I don’t have to redo it . . .
That the coffee will be hot and ready . . .
That there’ll be a parking spot
close to the door . . .
It’s not even wondering
if finances will cover things
Like a new car . . .
The kids’ education . . .
Retirement . . .
It’s the assurance that
there is more to come
after all this time on earth is through.
Knowing that pain and suffering
will be a thing of the past.
That anger, loneliness, heartache
will be no more.
That heaven holds more joy,
more peace, more love
Than I can even imagine, because
Hope Floats
on the Wings of Angel
