Song of Sherwood

Updated: Dec 4, 2021

Deep in the heart

of the Sherwood I know.

Livin' and lovin'

is all that she knows.

Nestled in the valleys

of Oregon she grows.

Railroads and sawmills

and farms she will sow.

Oh mighty you be

but small that you are.

Sherwood you're my home

I no longer roam.

Pain and sorrow

and loss we have known.

Loved ones gained

and loved ones lost.

Churches were built

and fellowships were formed.

Freedom to worship

and worship we did.

Oh mighty you be

but small that you are.

Sherwood you're my home

I no longer roam.

Sherwood wasn't built in a day.

It took the likes of a Robin

and his merry ole men.

Men of renown

and women of great strength.

They carved out a town

and she's a hundred years old.

Oh mighty you be

but small that you are.

Sherwood you're my home

I no longer roam.
