Shattered
It’s a passionate surrender
The face has no name
It fell by the wayside
But a story, just the same
Hiding behind a handsome mask
Dreams that were shattered

It’s a passionate surrender
The face has no name
It fell by the wayside
But a story, just the same
Hiding behind a handsome mask
Dreams that were shattered
She travelled
Over two thousand miles
Away
From us . . .
It’s too simple-minded
In the midst
Of a quiet
So simple,
but sufficient,
Another day unfolds . . .

sleep in

He lets me
try new recipes,
and eats whatever I come up with.
It's a gorgeous poem that might grab the eyes of readers if configured as suggested below:
It’s a passionate surrender -
The face has no name,
It fell by the wayside.
But a story, just the same
Hiding behind a handsome mask.
Dreams that were shattered
As the hands hit the glass,
It’s a passionate surrender
That face with no name
Reaches back to the sadness
From whence it came
