- The CurtainIn Post A Poem·August 19, 2024The Curtain There's a glorious rain falling outside our kitchen window. It's not quite a Wall of Water, but certainly, it's a Curtain of it. The drops are so huge you can see them as individual orbs. It's a lot of wetness. The birds are all holed up somewhere. They're not stupid. A light shower to bathe in is one thing, But this downpour calls for shelter. Maybe they're perched in a tree looking out through the Curtain. --Evy Kristensen118
- He Lets MeIn Post A Poem·August 19, 2024He lets me sleep in while he heads off to work. He lets me try new recipes, and eats whatever I come up with. He lets me pick the path we'll walk even if he'd go another way. He lets me be a little crazy-- silliness isn't in him, but he lets me. He lets me . . . No, that's not quite right. He not only Lets me-- He encourages me to be ME. --Evy Kristensen1114

- ShatteredIn Post A Poem·October 1, 2025It’s a passionate surrender The face has no name It fell by the wayside But a story, just the same Hiding behind a handsome mask Dreams that were shattered As the hands hit the glass It’s a passionate surrender That face with no name Reaches back to the sadness From whence it came Elizabeth Van Dyke Lizv349@att.net0228
- ShatteredIn Post A PoemOctober 1, 2025It's a gorgeous poem that might grab the eyes of readers if configured as suggested below: It’s a passionate surrender - The face has no name, It fell by the wayside. But a story, just the same Hiding behind a handsome mask. Dreams that were shattered As the hands hit the glass, It’s a passionate surrender That face with no name Reaches back to the sadness From whence it came Either way, it's a keeper. If you decide to play with the format a bit you can probably send it directly to editor@poetspeak.com for possible re-posting10
- ShatteredIn Post A PoemOctober 1, 2025Quite a moving story. I'm sure it was a "shattering" experience, but sounds like you made it into a positive part of your life.10
- The first oneIn Post A Poem·July 9, 2025In the midst Of a quiet So simple, but sufficient, Another day unfolds . . . Flowers have been gently Watered, And their fragile colors blend, Somehow – As a soft echo With the baby clouds In the morning Tennessee sky . . . I sip patiently My morning tea, And wait For the birds to arrive – Joyfully congregating Above, and Below Our trusted, little feeder pagoda . . . And there he is: The First One, A magnificent red-spangled cardinal . . . A perfect compliment To the pale white and pink colors Of the wee flowers My wife has planted In the hanging baskets Arrayed mere feet away . . . Mr. K.0119
- Song: Everyone Needs JesusIn Post A PoemJune 28, 2022Looks and sounds like the beginning of a great song! It has a lot of heart and sounds real. Keep writing lyrics and play with the music to the lyrics till it sounds just right. :)Kurt 5/22 Everyone Needs Jesus Verse 1 When you ask people how they’re doing, most will tell you that they’re good. But when you ask them about Jesus, they’ll act like they’ve misunderstood. Too concerned about their problems, and all the stress that this creates. And not concerned enough about their future…their salvation…and their faith. Verse 2 I can’t help but wonder, as I watch the daily news. What kind of spell are these kids under? What makes them do the things they do? One thing I think is certain, there’s a broken family. With no Fatherly influence and no relationship with Jesus…can lead to tragedy. Verse 3 Doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. Doesn’t matter about your past, or the things you’ve done. The Lord is good and will forgive anyone. So just come, just come. Everyone needs Jesus. Verse 4 People go about their daily lives ignoring responsibility But what a child really needs is love and security When children are ignored, they will often go astray. And we’re only left to pick up the pieces…and wonder why it just increases. Because everyone…yes everyone…needs Jesus. Outlude Everyone, everyone needs Jesus. Everyone, everyone needs Jesus Doesn’t matter who you are, or where you’re from. Everyone, everyone needs Jesus. Doesn’t matter about your past, or what you’ve done. Everyone needs Jesus. Everyone needs Jesus.10
- She bakes cookiesIn Post A Poem·October 21, 2023I am a very lucky husband, with a wife who knows why cooking solves real challenges . . . She knows better than priests and psychologists that men don't do well with instructions, or criticism . . . She simply start the mixer, puts on her cooking apron, turms on the music, and dances her way through the entire creation of batches of cookies brimming with secret enchantment . . . And Poof! All the silly manly worries magically become smiles and hugs. -Kurt Kristensen105
- The magnetic fieldIn Post A Poem·August 11, 2025She travelled Over two thousand miles Away From us . . . It’s too simple-minded To say, I missed my wife More than words can tell . . . The Earth has an invisible field Around her whole body, Sailors and pilots trust This force of nature To find their way home . . . Today, Knowing she sits Inside a giant plane, My heart knows, My love is closer, Because of this incomprehensible Force of love She has . . .0010
